The funeral was attend by Corps Commander Lahore Major General Ijaz Ahad Bakhshi and relatives, friends and military officials in a great number. Shaheed Major Abid left behind widow, a son and a daughter.Corps Commander Lahore laid floral wreath on behalf of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.Major Abid Majid got commission in Pakistan Army in 1997 and most of time served on battle front. He served in UN Peace Mission in Congo and also posted in Siachen. The mother of Shaheed Major Abid while talking to a private TV channel told that she is proud of her son who embraced Shahdat while fighting against enemies of the motherland.
